The UFC closed the books on 2017 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Saturday night, as UFC 219 went down.
In the main event, Cris Cyborg cemented her status as the baddest female fighter on the planet, picking Holly Holm apart for five rounds and defending her UFC female featherweight title.
Cyborg picked up the decision after out-landing Holm 116-65 in total strikes. As expected the two kept the fight standing, with just one takedown being attempted by Holm – and it being an unsuccessful one.
Bloody and battered, but both show #Respect

The two exchanged strikes in the opening 10 minutes, with both opening cuts on the other. Cyborg was bleeding from her nose, and Holm’s face had swelling around the left eye area.
In the third, it was the Brazilian taking control of the fight, landing more frequently with her jabs and peppering the injured eye of Holm. That continued through the fourth, with Cyborg landing her own head-kick.
This fight marked the first time Cyborg’s opponent had lasted until the fourth round since 2013 when she finished Marloes Coenen. That was her only fight before Holm to reach the “championship rounds.”
