UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley was planning on rehabbing a shoulder injury before returning to action in 2018.

However, if Nate Diaz is ready to return to action, Woodley would jump into training and fight him this December at UFC 219.

“If Nate wants to go, I’m ready,” Woodley told ESPN.

Woodley scored a pair of decision victories over Stephen Thompson and Demian Maia earlier this year in defense of his title, which he won with a finish of Robbie Lawler.

Diaz last fought 15 months ago when he was defeated by Conor McGregor, the reigning lightweight champion.

UFC 219 takes place December 30 from Las Vegas.
