Cody Garbrandt plans to return from his first pro loss even better.

Garbrandt dropped the bantamweight title to T.J. Dillashaw Saturday night at UFC 217 from Madison Square Garden.

“I am the better fighter,” he said. “And I will prove that in the rematch.

“I stand by everything I said. I’ll give T.J. respect for capitalizing, but I’m still the better fighter.”

The two former Team Alpha Male teammates nearly came to blows during filming of The Ultimate Fighter. The two were scheduled to meet earlier this year, but an injury scrapped the contest.

“This is going to be a learning experience for me,” Garbrandt said. “This is my passion. This is what I love to do.”
