FOX Sports announced plans for Saturday’s UFC 214: Cormier vs. Jones 2 event recently.
Below is a press release:
FOX Sports has set its broadcast team for UFC 214: CORMIER VS. JONES 2 on FXX, FS1 and FOX Deportes on Saturday, July 29. UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping (@Bisping) works as a studio desk analyst from FOX Sports’ Los Angeles studios with host Karyn Bryant (@KarynBryant) and fellow analyst and retired contender Kenny Florian (@KennyFlorian). Reporter Megan Olivi (@MeganOlivi) interviews fighters on-site.
Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz (@DominickCruz) joins analyst Joe Rogan (@JoeRogan) and blow-by-blow announcer Jon Anik (@Jon¬_Anik) to call UFC 214: CORMIER VS. JONES 2 on Saturday live from Anaheim, Calif. UFC bantamweight Erik “Goyito” Perez (@Goyito_Perez), Mario Delgado (@mariodelgadorzm) and Victor Davila (@mastervic10) call the Spanish language telecast on FOX Deportes.
The rematch the sports world has been waiting for is finally here, as UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier (19-1) defends his title against former title holder Jon Jones (22-1) in the main event of UFC 214. Revisiting the 2015 bout in which Jones defeated Cormier, the rivalry between the two elite 205-pounders has only intensified, with Cormier expecting to keep the title he has successfully defended against Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Johnson, while Jones is eager to reclaim the belt he held for four years and move back to the top of the pound-for-pound list.
The two-hour UFC 214 PRELIMS are on FXX and FOX Deportes Saturday at 8:00 PM ET and feature four action-packed bouts. No. 3-ranked featherweight Ricardo Lamas (17-5) faces No. 15 Jason Knight (20-2). No. 8-ranked bantamweight Aljamain Sterling (13-2) squares off with No. 14 featherweight Renan Barao (35-4, 1NC) in a 140-pound catchweight bout, while No. 8 Brian Ortega (11-0, 1NC) and No. 9-ranked featherweight Renato Moicano (10-0-1) go head-to-head. Plus, Andre Fili (16-4) and Calvin Kattar (16-2) open the PRELIMS with an exciting featherweight bout.
Saturday’s coverage begins on FXX (7:00 PM ET) with the UFC 214 PREFIGHT SHOW with Bryant, Bisping, Florian and Olivi. The action wraps up immediately following the main event with the FS1 UFC 214 POSTFIGHT SHOW. The UFC 214 WEIGH-IN SHOW takes place on Friday, July 28 (8:00 PM ET) on FS1 with the same studio crew.
On Wednesday (8:00 PM ET, FS1), UFC TONIGHT host Florian and guest host Bisping preview UFC 214 and interview headliners Cormier and Jones. They also catch up with welterweight champ Woodley about his title defense at UFC 214.
