With the removal of TJ Dillashaw-Cody Garbrandt for the bantamweight title, officials have added a second championship match to UFC 213.

Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero will meet on July 8 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for the interim middleweight title.

Whittaker (18-4) has scored seven consecutive victories, including an April TKO vs. Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. He’s also defeated the likes of Derek Brunson, Uriah Hall and Brad Tavares during his run.

Romero (13-1) finished Chris Weidman last November and has waited for his crack at the title ever since. He is unbeaten since signing with the UFC.
