Demetrious Johnson tied Anderson Silva’s record for most consecutive title defenses Saturday night, submitting Wilson Reis in the main event of UFC on FOX 24.

Johnson has defended his flyweight title 10 times, equaling that of Silva, the former middleweight champion. “Mighty Mouse” was previously tied with Georges St-Pierre for second on the list.

After dominating the opening two rounds, Johnson decided to bring the fight to the canvas. He continued to control the action there before locking in an armbar to become the first fighter to submit Reis.

Rose Namajunas kept her spot on the short list of contenders to the strawweight title, finishing Michelle Waterson in the second round. Namajunas locked in a rear-naked choke after flooring Waterson in the co-main event from Kansas City.

Robert Whittaker, meanwhile, shook up the middleweight ranks with his second round head-kick and finish on Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Whittaker, a former winner of The Ultimate Fighter, stunned Souza, who suffered his first stoppage loss since 2008 at the hands of Gegard Mousasi.

In the main card opener from the Sprint Center, Renato Moicano scored a split decision victory over Jeremy Stephens.

On the televised prelims, Alexander Volkov defeated Roy Nelson, Tom Duquesnoy had a finish in his UFC debut over Patrick Williams, Rashid Magomedov earned a decision vs. Bobby Green and Tim Elliott bested Louis Smolka via decision.

Aljamain Sterling, Devin Clark, Anthony Smith, Zak Cummins and Ketlen Vieira all had wins on the UFC Fight Pass prelims.
