Before Anthony Johnson made his retirement announcement, he told Daniel Cormier about his decision.

Cormier had just submitted Johnson at UFC 210 to remain light heavyweight champion, and after hearing what “Rumble” was going to say, he gave him the floor.

“He told me this was going to be his last fight, so I told him to go first with the post-fight interviews,” Cormier said.

With Johnson gone, who’s next for the champion? Jimi Manuwa made his plans known at the card, while Jon Jones is expected to be eligible to return later this year.

“I believe the division is two guys, me and Jon Jones. Jimi Manawa has done a good job, but he lost points for wearing that sweat suit. It’ll be me and Jones, the two best pound-for-pound fighters in the UFC,” Cormier said. “I’ll fight whoever. I’ll fight Jones, but I don’t know if he wants to fight me for his first time back after being gone so long. You saw how he looked after coming back and fighting Ovince Saint Preux.”
