After a tough stretch that saw him go just 1-4, Jim Miller has now won three consecutive fights.

Miller scored his latest win at UFC 205 Saturday night, defeating former welterweight title contender Thiago Alves via decision.

“For me, it was so special to be fighting here in Madison Square Garden,” Miller said. “There is so much history here and winning inside this arena is a dream come true.”

The veteran from New Jersey has also picked up wins over Joe Lauzon and Takanori Gomi this year after a loss in March to Diego Sanchez. He has improved his overall record to 28-8 with one no-contest.

“Just getting to compete was an honor,” Miller said. “My plan is to stay active. I still have a lot I want to do in the Octagon.”
