Colby Covington experienced his first pro loss last December to Warlley Alves.
On Saturday night, he scored a second straight win since that defeat, besting Max Griffin at UFC 202.
Covington (10-1), a former Oregon State University and Iowa Central Community College wrestling standout, improved to 5-1 over his UFC career. He opened his MMA run with eight wins in eight fights.
“No one in this division can stay with my pace,” Covington said. “I feel like I’m getting better every time out. At American Top Team, I am rounding my skills.”
Using his exceptional wrestling skills, “Chaos” had little trouble taking out the UFC newcomer Griffin. He dominated the second round, almost finishing him a number of times.
