It didn’t take Marvin Vettori long to make an impact, scoring a first round submission victory over Alberto Uda to kickoff UFC 202 Saturday night.

The Italian was making his debut inside the Octagon, but he didn’t look a bit nervous.

After dominating the stand-up early on against the Brazilian, Vettori (11-2) was in control on the ground against the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. Once Uda tired out in the guard, Vettori went to work, finding a head-and-arm guillotine and getting the tap.

“I have been working MMA grappling with a high-level sparring partner this whole camp,” he said. “That’s what happened. I’ve been working on the (guillotine) this whole camp.”

Vettori, just 22 years old, pushed his current win streak to six overall with the win.
