Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman knows that he said some strong things about Dan Henderson.
But that doesn’t mean Weidman doesn’t respect the legend.
Henderson will challenge Michael Bisping for the belt later this year in England, and while most believe the outcome from UFC 100 will be different this time around, Weidman isn’t completely on that boat.
“I think he has a great shot,” Weidman said, during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour (thanks to MMA Fighting for transcribing). “I wouldn’t say he’s favored to win, but I’d say he has the same shot he had of knocking out Bisping as he did the first time. I don’t think much has changed.”
While he wanted the shot at Bisping and the belt, Weidman will have to wait. He is likely to be placed on the November UFC 205 card about a month after the title-fight. That event takes place in New York City.
