Chris Camozzi has put himself on the cusp of the Top-15, earning a third straight victory over Vitor Miranda Sunday night at UFC Fight Night 88.
Camozzi (24-10) hopes that the performance gets him closer to the rankings, as he has also bested Joe Riggs and Tom Watson since returning on short notice vs. top contender Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
“I want a Top-10 opponent next,” Camozzi said. “I don’t know who that is, but hopefully soon.”
The veteran was hoping to stop Miranda, who had earned three straight finishes of his own entering the night, but instead he had to settle for the decision.
“I feel great,” he said. “I wanted to be aggressive (in the third round), but also smart. I knew he was desperate and packing a lot of power still in the third, so I tried to pick my shots and push forward to get the win.”
Miranda (12-5) had not lost since a 2014 decision setback vs. Antonio Carlos Junior in the finals of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3.
