Diego Sanchez earned his 26th career victory Saturday night at UFC 196, concluding the early Fight Pass prelims with a decision vs. Jim Miller.

For Sanchez, who won Season 1 of The Ultimate Fighter, the performance was all about getting his hand raised. He is now 3-3 over his last six after a loss last November to Ricardo Lamas.

“I knew if I hit him enough he was going to slow down,” Sanchez said. “I have a masterful coaching staff and they gave me a great game plan.

“This was all about trying to get back in the win column for my family.”

By going the distance for the 10th straight time in his career, Sanchez moved into fifth all-time in terms of time spent inside the Octagon.

“Jim threw down,” Sanchez said. “He’s a man’s, man. I hope the fans liked the fight.”
