An injury to Rafael dos Anjos has caused major commotion Tuesday morning.
Multiple reports are indicating the UFC lightweight champion will not make UFC 196 this March 5 to defend his title against Conor McGregor. Officials are looking at replacements at this moment.
McGregor, the reigning UFC featherweight champion, was pushing to join Randy Couture and BJ Penn as the only two-division champions in UFC history. Neither Couture or Penn, though, wore both titles at the same time.
Last December, dos Anjos successfully defended his belt vs. Donald Cerrone and McGregor won the unified title with a 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo.
Currently, the UFC 196 card includes Miesha Tate challenging Holly Holm for the bantamweight belt.
