Luke Rockhold may have received heaps of praise for his stoppage win over Chris Weidman at UFC 194, but according to the new champ, he wasn’t pleased with what went down.

Yes, Rockhold closed out a very memorable campaign last month, by becoming the first man ever to defeat Weidman. Heading into the fight the consensus was that it would be tightly contested, and due to what transpired, Rockhold’s stock has never been higher.

What made the victory ever more impressive was that afterwards, Rockhold revealed that a serious, pre-fight infection had hindered his camp. Well, recently the middleweight champ appeared on MMA Radio, and Rockhold had this to say about his performance (quote via MMA

“I was disappointed in the way I did it,” Rockhold said. “I can do so much better than that. I was about half the man I should have been in that fight. I didn’t fight well at all. Ask my teammates what I’m capable of. I fought to about half of my ability.”

If that is indeed the truth, we could be set for a lengthy, Rockhold reign. Of course, others have argued that Weidman had an off night, and that the fight might have gone differently if he hadn’t gone for that ill fated, kick.

Rockhold also noted in the interview that he’d be willing to face Weidman again, or take on Yoel Romero. Chances are the UFC will go with the latter at this juncture. Romero is coming off a decision win over fellow top contender, “Jacare” Souza.
