Winning eight in a row will definitely get you noticed in the UFC.
Max Holloway has done just that, adding Jeremy Stephens to his resume with a decision win at UFC 194 Saturday night.
After the performance, Holloway took the microphone and demanded a title fight next.
“There are two fights out there,” he screamed. “Either Holloway vs. (Conor) McGregor 2 in (Ireland) at Croke Park, or Holloway vs. (Jose) Aldo in Hawaii.”
Not only did the Hawaiian hold a plus-10 advantage in significant strikes and a plus-28 advantage in total strikes, he also took Stephens down for the lone takedown in the match. Holloway also defended all 10 takedown attempts by his opponent.
“It wasn’t the prettiest,” Holloway said. “(Stephens) hit harder. We trained together before, but that was three years ago.”
Holloway’s last loss came to McGregor via decision in 2013.
