It was just the kind of performance that Gian Villante needed.
The New Yorker scored a first round knockout of Anthony Perosh at UFC 193 Saturday night, getting back on track after being knocked out in July by Tom Lawlor.
Villante (14-6) improved to 3-1 in his last four, adding to an April TKO vs. Corey Anderson and a 2014 decision over Sean O’Connell.
“I am disappointed in my performance,” Villante said. “The last time (I competed) I wasn’t happy. I always want to do better and this is an improvement.
“That was the first straight right I threw. I just have to listen to my coaches.”
The finish was the 11th of his career, including nine via knockout or TKO.
