Nick Newell will make his return to the World Series of Fighting cage later this month, but before he does that, he’ll talk about it on “The Dan Patrick Show” this Monday.

The program airs on DirecTV’s Audience Network and on NBC Sports Network, the home of WSOF 24. It is hosted by Dan Patrick, a former ESPN anchor.

“It’s an honor and a great chance to promote WSOF and MMA in a positive way,” Newell told FightLine regarding the appearance.

Newell (12-1) will face Tom Marcellino on October 17 as part of the main card. He is coming off a decision victory this past April over Joe Condon that came on the heels of a loss to current WSOF lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.

The 29-year-old former XFC champion signed a new four-fight deal with the WSOF earlier this year. He’s scored 10 finishes among his 12 career wins, including eight via submission.

Newell sports a 3-1 record over four WSOF appearances, highlighted by first round guillotine chokes over Sabah Fadai and Keon Caldwell in 2013.
