Following a second consecutive defeat in his quest to become UFC flyweight champion, John Dodson is going to balloon up.

Actually, Dodson is just planning to return to his original UFC weight at bantamweight, according to a report on “UFC Tonight” that “The Magician” confirmed via Twitter.

“His manager has told me that Dodson is moving back up to bantamweight, where he used to be,” UFC Tonight’s Ariel Helwani reported. “He knocked out the current bantamweight title holder TJ Dillashaw at that weight. They believe with the new IV ban and no more PEDs, it’ll be better. They want to go on a title run and are moving back up.”

Dodson (17-7) had his three-fight win streak snapped in September with a decision loss to Demetrious Johnson. It was the second such defeat in his career at the hands of “Mighty Mouse.”

Back in 2011, Dodson made a splash on the bantamweight scene when he captured the title of Ultimate Fighter with a first round knockout of T.J. Dillashaw, who currently wears the UFC 135-pound belt.
