Paige VanZant can move a little closer to becoming a top contender to the UFC strawweight title Saturday night when she faces Alex Chambers at UFC 191.

The bout will kickoff the pay-per-view main card from Las Vegas that features Demetrious Johnson defending his flyweight belt vs. John Dodson.

For VanZant, the desire to get her hand raised at the end of the fight outweighs everything else.

“I go in there and do my job,” she said, during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight. “I like to win more than anything in the world. Once the competition starts and the bell rings, I have to be the best.”

Training at Team Alpha Male, VanZant works with male fighters more than female ones. That, though, has helped prepare her for the battles inside the Octagon.

“There’s a family and a team aspect. There’s also a pro athlete gym,” she said. “They’re making sure I’m ready for my fight. Training with men is better. There’s less drama, and if I can stand three or five rounds with the guys, I can handle a fight with a girl. They definitely hit harder than any girl I’ve fought.”
