The bantamweight title was on the line Saturday night at UFC on FOX 16 from the United Center in Chicago.

For the second straight time, T.J. Dillashaw dominated Renan Barao, retaining the title with a fourth round TKO victory.

Last year, Dillashaw finished the Brazilian in the fifth in a fight he was completely controlling. This time around, the Team Alpha Male fighter needed just three-plus rounds, scoring a complete victory over Barao.

Miesha Tate possibly secured a third meeting with Ronda Rousey, as the former Strikeforce champion claimed a decision victory over Jessica Eye. Should Rousey defend her title next month, Tate is expected to challenge her.

Edson Barboza pushed his record to 16-3 and handed Paul Felder his first pro loss with a decision victory. After falling behind in the first round, the Brazilian came on over the last 10 minutes. The win moved Barboza to 3-1 in his last four and 6-2 over his last eight.

“Fight-Night Bonus” machine Joe Lauzon started off the FOX main card in convincing fashion, finishing veteran Takanori Gomi. Lauzon, after several shots to a defenseless Gomi, just stepped off him and walked away.

Ultimate Fighter alum Tom Lawlor made a triumphant return to the UFC with a thrilling second round knockout of Gian Villante. “Filthy” connected with a perfectly-timed right hook as Villante was coming in, knocking him out to conclude the prelims.

Jim Miller picked up a much-needed decision, besting Team Alpha Male’s Danny Castillo. Miller won for the first time since an early 2014 submission win over Yancy Medeiros.

Welterweights Ben Saunders and Kenny Robertson put on a 15-minute battle, as Saunders scored the split decision. “Killa B” almost had the finish a handful of times, bloodying Robertson with vicious elbows in the third.

Bryan Caraway, Tate’s boyfriend, started off the televised action with a decision win over Eddie Wineland. Caraway picked up his 20th career win, while Wineland was competing for the first time in 400-plus days after suffering a second broken jaw.

James Krause scored a quick submission win over Daron Cruickshank via rear-naked choke early in the first round in the main online UFC Fight Pass prelim.

In other early prelim action, Zak Cummings knocked out Dominique Steele just 43 seconds into the first round, while Elizabeth Phillips earned a decision over Jessamyn Duke and Andrew Holbrook scored a split decision over Ramsey Nijem in his Octagon debut.

Earning “Fight of the Night” was Barboza and Felder, while Dillashaw and Lawlor picked up “Performance of the Night” bonuses. All four earned $50,000, as the live gate was announced at $1.2 million with an attendance of 11,663.
