A pair of title fights will be featured this September when the World Series of Fighting returns to Phoenix.

In the main event of WSOF 23, Justin Gaethje will defend his lightweight title against Luis Palomino after the champion retained his title in the same venue with a win earlier this year. Gaethje (14-0) finished Palomino in the third round.

Also, middleweight champion David Branch will attempt to become a two-division titleholder when he meets Teddy Holder in the finals of the light heavyweight tournament.

“We are excited to return to Phoenix where we witnessed one of the most incredible fights in WSOF history earlier this year between Justin Gaethje and Luis Palomino, and to see them do it all over again,” WSOF president Ray Sefo said. “Likewise, we look forward to crowning the first WSOF light heavyweight champion in history and, based on their recent performances in our cage, David Branch and Teddy Holder should deliver a thrilling end to our historic tournament.”

Branch bested Jesse McElligott in the opening round, while Holder stunned UFC veteran Thiago Silva.
