Yoel Romero earned a signature win this past weekend, stopping former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.
With the win, Romero climbed to No. 3 in the latest UFC rankings for middleweights, passing both Machida and Vitor Belfort. He sits behind Luke Rockhold and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza as potential challengers to Chris Weidman’s belt.
Michael Bisping and Thales Leites – who collide next month – flipped for ninth and 10th in the division.
Glover Teixeira is now fourth at light heavyweight, while Mark Hunt moved ahead of Ben Rothwell for seventh at heavyweight.
In the featherweight division, Frankie Edgar is now ranked No. 1 behind champion Jose Aldo, though Chad Mendes will step in and fight Conor McGregor if Aldo cannot. Also, Charles Oliveira moved up to seventh and Hacran Dias climbed two spots to 12th.
Aljamain Sterling pushed his way to seventh at bantamweight, Justin Scoggins debuted at No. 15 at flyweight and Anderson Silva moved to 11th in the pound-for-pound rankings.
Paige VanZant and Heather Clark each moved up to seventh and 12th at strawweight.
