Jose Quinonez wasn’t bothered by Leonardo Morales’ inability to make weight.

Instead, the alum of The Ultimate Fighter just went to work once the cage door closed, earning a first round submission at UFC Fight Night 68 Saturday night.

After initially failing on his first takedown attempt, Quinonez (4-2) stuck with it, scoring off a trip. He immediately locked in the hooks, worked for a rear-naked choke and locked it up.

“We worked on Greco-Roman clinch,” Quinonez said. “We wanted to take it to the ground, get good jiu-jitsu position and go for the submission.”

Morales (4-2) came in one-pound over for the fight, forfeiting a portion of his fight purse to Quinonez.
