Francisco Rivera hadn’t tasted the thrill of victory since 2013.

That changed Saturday night, as Rivera stunned Alex Caceres to start the UFC Fight Night 68 main card, earning his 11 career win in just a matter of moments.

Rivera (11-4) was coming off back-to-back defeats vs. Urijah Faber and Takeya Mizugaki, having last won in 2013 when he finished George Roop and Edwin Figueroa that year.

“It was tough being away from my kids for training camp,” he said. “I was hurt during training camp, but I kept fighting it. To come out with a big win, it was huge for me.”

Rivera also mentioned a possible rematch with Faber, as that contest was viewed as controversial by many after Faber caught him with an eye poke.

“Hopefully, I can get a rematch,” he said.

Caceres falls to 10-8 witht he loss.
