Shawn Jordan has the number of fellow heavyweight Derrick Lewis, scoring a second round TKO over Lewis at UFC Fight Night 68 Saturday night.

Jordan (18-6) has won three in a row, all via finish, since a pair of losses to Matt Mitrione and Gabriel Gonzaga. In the opening moments of the second round, Jordan hit Lewis with a heel-kick that rocked him.

“It was good that it landed,” he said. “Derrick is a tough guy. When we come in the cage, we respect each other as athletes.”

Back in 2010, Jordan earned a decision over Lewis while both were competing for the Cajun Fighting Championships.

Jordan, a former LSU college football and wrestling standout, was fighting in the state for the first time since 2011.

“It’s good to be home,” he said. “It was great to come back here for all the Tiger lovers.”
