Mirsad Bektic was viewed as one of the top featherweights not signed to the UFC when he was coming up.

Now that he’s an active member of the roster, Bektic is making a name for himself.

Bektic remained unbeaten Saturday night with a second round finish of Lucas Martins at UFC Fight Night 67. He is now 10-0, with each of his last three victories coming inside the Octagon.

Following a strong first round controlled by his wrestling, Bektic landed a straight shot to answer Martins in the second. That dropped the Brazilian, and he followed up with several elbows and strikes before the referee stepped in.

“It was a good performance but I can do better,” Bektic said. “I tried to bang a little bit (with him). I landed on the money, jumped on top of him and was looking at the ref (to step in).

“I didn’t let up and I got the finish.”

Prior to going to the scorecards in his first two UFC fights, Bektic had finished six of his first seven pro fights.

“Nobody is faster than me or more explosive than me,” he said. “He stood right in front of me, so I was just trying to load up and hit him.”
