Bellator 137 Results: Mixed Emotions For Brandon Halsey

Unbeaten Brandon Halsey tries to turn back the challenge of veteran Kendall Grove Friday night in the main event of Bellator 137.

The main card airs live on Spike TV beginning at 9 p.m. ET from Temecula, California and the Pechangar Resort and Casino.

Halsey (8-0) won the title with a quick submission of Alexander Shlemenko last year and will be making his first title defense. Grove (21-14) has fought for several promotions during his career, including the UFC.

The rest of the main card features Eduardo Dantas vs. Mike Richman, Fernando Gonzalez vs. Curtis Millender and Darrion Caldwell vs. Rafael Silva.

    Grove was completely outclassed over 4 rounds, not 1. Halsey, despite lacking the professionalism of showing up on-weight, certainly took care of business in punishing Grove for almost 20 minutes before the ref stepped in.

    Also, Halsey did not retain the title. It was stripped at the weigh-in, when he showed up 3 pounds over the limit.

    I think it was a bullshit move by Bellator, had it been Schlemenko or some one else marketable they would never have been punished like this. Bet Coker was as happy about this as he was about Emmanuel Newton losing the strap.

    I guess no one from the sire looks at the comments. I pointed out 2 errors in the span of one sentence, but it hasn’t been corrected. This site has fallen off even more than I realized.
