An elbow injury has knocked former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis out of a planned July bout with Myles Jury.

The announcement was made on “FOX Sports Live,” as Edson Barboza steps in to face Jury. UFC on FOX 16 takes place July 25 from the United Center in Chicago.

Barboza (15-3) has won nine of 12 Octagon bouts, while Jury (15-1) is coming off his first career loss to Donald Cerrone.

Pettis (18-3) has had trouble staying healthy throughout his MMA career, as knee issues and other injuries have wiped out several months of training and competing. He is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday. “Showtime” lost the title to Rafael dos Anjos earlier this year.
