For the first time in his UFC career, Colby Covington will get to compete in the United States, as he takes on Mike Pyle at UFC 187. Covington replaces Sean Spencer, the original opponent for Pyle.
Set for May 23 from Las Vegas, the card features both the light heavyweight and middleweight titles on the line.
Covington (7-0) is 2-0 since joining the UFC last year, scoring submission wins over Wagner Silva and Wang Anying in Brazil and China. The American Top Team fighter is a former standout college wrestler at Oregon State University.
Pyle (26-10) is coming off a first round TKO loss to Jordan Mein, but is 5-2 in his last seven overall.
