Welcome to FightLine’s live coverage of UFC 186: Johnson vs. Horiguchi.

Tonight’s card comes to us from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The prelims air on UFC Fight Pass and FOX Sports 1, while the main card is set for pay-per-view.

In the main event, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson defends his title against Kyoji Horiguchi. “Mighty Mouse” is the only person to hold the 125-pound title inside the Octagon, while Horiguchi is unbeaten with the UFC.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson makes his Octagon return against Fabio Maldonado, while Michael Bisping and C.B. Dollaway collide in a key middleweight affair. The rest of the PPV card features John Makdessi vs. Shane Campbell and Yves Jabouin vs. Thomas Almeida.

The card originally featured such matches as T.J. Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao, Hector Lombard vs. Rory MacDonald and the return of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

Aisling Daly vs. Randa Markos

We begin the night with our first of three female bouts, as Ultimate Fighter 20 alums Aisling Daly (15-5) and Randa Markos (4-2) square off in a strawweight contest.

Round 1: Markos is on-point right from the start with her striking, catching Daly with a pair of rights. Daly is ready to engage, gaining the clinch and landing a couple of knees. Markos, though, comes firing back with huge shots, damaging the face less than a minute in. Takedown off a trip, and Markos gains top position. She flattens her out and takes the back, working a body triangle with two minutes left. She switches top and has a potential arm-triangle, though she is in half-guard. Less than a minute left, she gets out of the guard and squeezes. Daly, though, survives and flips free.

Round 2: Daly, who ended the round on top, comes out and lands a solid kick. She’s more aggressive to get going this round, pushing Markos against the fence. She wants to turn this into a grinder. Markos with a takedown and has Daly stuck, hammering away with shots to the face. She’s not doing a lot of damage, but enough to keep from getting a stand-up. Daly works free and to her free. Daly scores a takedown off the clinch, avoids a possible leg-choke and postures up. She’s getting in some good shots and has busted open the eye of Markos. North-South position for Daly with a minute left and she needs to finish this round strong.

Round 3: Huge cut was from an elbow by Daly to Markos, and the cut is not going to seal anytime soon. Daly marching forward, coming right after her. Daly tries for a trip takedown, but gets reversed by Markos, who has now gained the clinch. Like early in the second, perfectly-executed trip-takedown for Markos, who is attempting to pin the arm this time. She’s peppering her face with shots as we go under the three-minute mark. Daly works to her feet and pulls guard, winding up mounted and eating more punches. Markos with an armbar as we go under a minute. Daly’s fighting hard to survive, breaks the armbar and avoids a leg-choke as the fight ends.

Jessica Rakoczy vs. Valerie Letourneau

We stick in the 115-pound division for our next contest, as Jessica Rakoczy (2-4) takes on Valerie Letourneau (6-3). Rakoczy was a TUF finalist at bantamweight, as both will be debuting at strawweight for this contest.

Round 1: Rakoczy rocking her Ultimate Fighter gear, working off several rights to gain the clinch. She’s looking for a takedown, but Letourneau avoids it and they separate. Takedown for Rakoczy, but it’s Letourneau who locks up a triangle. She tried to slam her way out of it and that only locked the submission tighter. Letourneau switches and transitions to an armbar, while also locked in a triangle. Somehow, she slips her way out and free, taking the back of Letourneau in the process. Takedown for Letourneau now, who gains full mount but loses the position after trying for an armbar. Rakoczy hammering away with big-time shots.

Round 2: Letourneau using her reach advantage, as Rakoczy has swelling around her eye. Rakoczy shoots in for a takedown, as she wants nothing to do with the stand-up game. Grinding in the clinch against the fence, and Letourneau fires back with stiff knees. Rakoczy still has control, but she’s eating these knees. Rakoczy throwing some of her best strikes late in the round.

Round 3: Rakoczy told her corner she can’t see out of the right eye and she’s trying her best to protect it. Good exchange and Letourneau fights off a takedown attempt. Letourneay backs her against the fence and tees off, connecting with heavy lefts and rights as we head under the two-minute mark. Letourneau looks very calm and cool, picking her spots. Smooth takedown and some ground-and-pound to finish for Letourneau.
