AGON will bring wrestling to the root of the sport with AGON V: Iowa vs. the World on April 3.
Set for the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, the card features Brent Metcalf taking on Aaron Pico in the main event and Henry Cejudo battling Tony Ramos in the co-main.
Metcalf was a national champion for the University of Iowa, while Pico is a well-decorated wrestler who has signed a futures contract with Bellator MMA.
Ramos is another former-Hawkeye standout and Cejudo won U.S. Olympic gold in 2008. He’s also a current member of the UFC’s flyweight division.
The other pro bouts feature Matt McDonough vs. Angel Escobedo, Derek St. John vs. Jason Welch and Phillip Keddy vs. Deron Winn. Two amateur fights have also been set, as Fredy Stroker battles Mike Kemerer and Justin Mejia faces Austin Gomez.
Tickets range in price from $16-$115 and can be purchased on the U.S. Cellular Center website.
