Just four years into his pro MMA career, and Elias Theodorou has shown a flash for the impressive.
Theodorou remained unbeaten with a second round finish of Roger Narvaez in front of hostile fans at UFC 185 Saturday night. The former Ultimate Fighter: The Nations winner is now 11-0 and 3-0 with the UFC.
“I don’t have a background in martial arts,” he admitted. “It’s just my athleticism and my will to win.”
After dominating the first round, Theodorou was able to bring a winded and slowed Narvaez (7-2) down early in the second. He continued to hammer away, earning the stoppage victory.
Theodorou was also able to earn a stoppage victory in the finals of TUF when he defeated Sheldon Westcott in the second round. His next bout was a decision triumph vs. Bruno Santos.
“Mentally, I knew I was beating him,” Theodorou said. “Fear was not a factor.”
Narvaez stated after the fight that he might have suffered a broken arm from the kicks being landed by the Canadian fighter.
