BAMMA 19 will see the crowning of a new lightweight champion, as Marc Diakiese and Jack McGann square off for the vacant title.

Set for March 28 from the Blackpool Winter Gardens, the winner will be the first to hold the belt since Curt Warburton last year. He vacated his Lonsdale British belt after taking on Mansour Barnaoui unsuccessfully for the world title.

“I’m absolutely over the moon for this opportunity given to my by BAMMA,” Diakiese said. “It’s going to be the toughest fight of my career against Jack McGann, who’s a very well-rounded fighter.

“But I know where I need to be and what I need to do on the night and I very much look forward to becoming BAMMA Lonsdale British lightweight champion.”

McGann, who’s teammate is current four-time Lonsdale boxing champion Brian Rose, said that “bringing this belt home in MMA will be a huge achievement for me and my team.

“I want to win and do it with the crowd on the edge of their seats,” he said. “We’re Wolfslair. We finish fights.”
