Alan Jouban’s 11th career victory will be one he doesn’t forget anytime soon, as he knocked out Richard Walsh on his feet at UFC 184 Saturday night.
After hitting Walsh with an elbow to the temple, Jouban (11-3) got the sour taste of a loss in Brazil out of his mouth.
“I wanted to get the win and get back on track,” he said. “I want to get on that Louisiana card and fight in my home state.”
Jouban and Walsh (8-3) exchanged right from the start, as the two welterweights wasted not time in throwing heavy leather. However, it was Jouban who found his rhythm first.
“I landed the elbow and it was auto-pilot from there,” Jouban said. “He was a very prepared, very game opponent. It took me a few minutes to find my rhythm.
“It just feels amazing (to win).”
