Both champion and challenger were on point during weigh-ins for Bellator 134 Thursday, as Emanuel Newton and Liam McGeary both came in under the 205-pound limit.

Newton, the reigning light heavyweight champion, will defend his belt vs. the unbeaten McGeary live Friday night on Spike TV. Newton weighed 204.5 pounds, McGeary 204 even.

“I am going to finish (McGeary),” Newton said. “Whether it be by choke, KO, TKO or submission, I am going to finish him.

“I am connected to my inner-being. All I ever request of myself is victory. I don’t request a nice car or a big house, all I request is victory and it will be given to me.”

McGeary, part of the “British Invasion” angle for the card, earned his shot at the belt by steamrolling through a tournament.

“I am going to become the first Englishmen to win a major title in America,” he said. “I put the work in. I have sacrificed too much to come up short. I have a great team behind me.”

In the co-main event, Cheick Kongo will face Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in a heavyweight scrap.
