Nick Diaz didn’t really have much to say about Anderson Silva, as their fight today approached, which isn’t exactly the norm when it comes to the outspoken vet. Sure, Diaz isn’t known for slinging trash talk in a Conor McGregor like manner, but in the past, he’s made it clear when he’s perturbed by his opponent.

Well, this time around, Diaz has admitted he has nothing bad to say about the legendary Silva, and UFC President Dana White has taken notice. While speaking to recently about tonight’s headliner, here is some of what White had to say:

“He wanted to fight Anderson Silva, and I think he respects Anderson as a fighter. Nick got the money, the fight – everything he wanted,” White said. “Usually when Nick is going crazy on people it’s because he’s angry and he’s feeling like he didn’t get something he deserved. He got everything he wanted in this fight.”

Diaz relayed a long time ago that he wanted to fight Silva at some juncture, and following his loss to Georges St-Pierre in 2013, he said it was one of a few match-up which could get him to fight again.

And how does White see tonight’s fight playing out?

“A lot of things make Nick Diaz a fun fighter to watch and follow. Obviously his attitude and the way he carries himself, but first and foremost is the way he fights. Nick Diaz isn’t afraid of anybody,” White said. “Anderson Silva – it doesn’t even need to be said what type of fighter this guy is. It’s going to be fun.”
