Former UFC fighter Matt Lindland will receive the George Tragos Award from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum this July.

Lindland will be honored for his career both on the mats and inside the cage. He is currently the USA Wrestling Greco-Roman wrestling coach.

The accolades for Lindland are numerous, as he was a silver medalist at the 2000 Summer Olympics and won silver at the 2001 World Championships. In college, he was a Big Eight champion and went 22-9 in MMA.

Lindland last competed in 2011, falling to Mamed Khalidov via submission. He fought the likes of current UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, contenders Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Vitor Belfort, ex-champion Carlos Newton and the legendary Fedor Emelianenko during his MMA career.

The event will take place July 10-11.
