Following Jon Jones’ victory over Daniel Cormier on Saturday, Fabricio Werdum warned the light-heavyweight champ to say in his weight class, but now the decorated heavyweight has invited “Bones” to come train with him…

Of course, the invitation isn’t about spending some quality time with Jones and getting to know him, it’s entirely about the comments the outspoken champ made several months back. If you missed it, back in November, Jones relayed that he’d be willing to fight Werdum “every day, all day”, and clearly the statement didn’t sit well with the latter.

In addition to the post-UFC 182 warning Werdum tweeted, the well rounded fighter recently told MMA the following:

“If you want to fight me every day, come to Kings MMA. We’ll spar every day, all day, with no time limit for a week, a month, until one quits. If you want to fight me every day, that’s how it’s going to work,” Werdum said. “When we have a visitor that talks too much trash, we do sparring sessions with no time limit, until someone quits. Old-school MMA.”

“But if you want to fight me, we can talk to the UFC and do this superfight,” he continued. “Heavyweight, catchweight, anything.”

Wow. How about that? Clearly Jones has gotten under the interim heavyweight champ’s skin and then some huh?

Jones has talked about moving to heavyweight for some time now, and after he decisioned Cormier at UFC 182, he also relayed his willingness to fight heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez.

While all this makes for good copy and eyebrow raising headlines, of course, neither of those fights are going to happen any time soon. Jones has to face the winner of the upcoming Alexander Gustafsson-Anthony Johnson scrap, and Werdum still has to face Velasquez in their unifying championship bout.

Werdum took out Mark Hunt in November to secure the interim title, and has won five straight bouts.
