Rafael dos Anjos has put together a six-year career inside the Octagon and competed 17 times. After defeating one-time contender Nate Diaz, he wants his shot at the lightweight title.

Dos Anjos continued his hot run at UFC on FOX 13 Saturday night, besting Diaz via decision. Earlier this year, he defeated former champion Benson Henderson via knockout.

“Please Dana (White), Lorenzo (Fertitta), give me a title shot,” he said. “I have been working hard. I want my chance at the title. Please.”

Dos Anjos (23-7) is likely behind No. 1 ranked Khabib Nurmagomedov, as the unbeaten fighter scored a decision over him. Still, he showed something new by methodically picking Diaz apart.

“He does not block any kicks at all,” dos Anjos said. “The game plan was a lot of leg kicks to set up the takedowns.”
