Todd Duffee wants to become the leader in the quest to warn people about a disease that almost ended his MMA career.

Duffee returned for the first time in two years Saturday night, finishing Anthony Hamilton in just 33 seconds at UFC 181. Last year, the heavyweight found out he had Parsonage Turner Syndrome, which caused him severe pains and numbness.

“You have to believe in yourself,” he said. “You can do all you can do. You just have to take it one day at a time.

“It’s scary, I know.”

Duffee (9-2) earned his third straight overall, but the last came in 2012 when he finished Philip De Fries. He was released from the UFC in 2010 after a loss to Mike Russow, but before that, he floored Tim Hague in just seven seconds.

He asked Joe Rogan for a little time to thank everyone, giving credit to his family, friends and teammates for helping him in his quest to get back to the UFC.
