Matt Brown, Tarec Saffiedine Set For Colorado

Tarec Saffiedine

Originally, welterweights Matt Brown and Tarec Saffiedine were headed to Sweden. Now, they will meet in Colorado.

Officials announced the contest as the main event for UFC Fight Night on February 14 from Broomfield, Colorado. It will be a scheduled five-round affair.

Brown (19-12) had his win streak snapped this past July in a No. 1 contender match with Robbie Lawler, which he lost via decision. Prior to that, “The Immortal” had downed Erick Silva, Mike Pyle, Jordan Mein, Mike Swick, Luis Ramos and Chris Cope early, while scoring a decision over Stephen Thompson.

Saffiedine (15-4) was the final Strikeforce champion and is 1-1 with the UFC. He was finished by Rory MacDonald in October after scoring a win over Hyun Gyu Lim in his long-awaited Octagon debut in January.

Below is the current lineup:

Welterweight: Matt Brown vs. Tarec Saffiedine

Featherweight: Max Holloway vs. Cole Miller

Flyweight: Zach Makovsky vs. Tim Elliott

Flyweight: Ray Borg bs. Chris Kelades

Welterweight: Brandon Thatch vs. Stephen Thompson

This is shaping up to be a solid card. It doesn’t have any real blockbuster fights on it, but I’m looking forward to at least 4 of the 5 listed.

yes looks pretty solid alright, I’d fancy Matt to take this, especially the way Tarec has looked his last couple of fights. He was lucky not to get KO’d by Lim towards the end as well.
Kind of a shame Ray Borg and Zach Makovsky aren’t fighting each other, that would have been a fight.
    Thatch/Thompson should be fun
