Kelvin Gastelum pushed his way through the rigors of The Ultimate Fighter, including an upset of the heavily-favored Uriah Hall in the finals.

Now, after finishing Jake Ellenberger Saturday night at UFC 180, Gastelum believes he has fully arrived.

“I just beat one of the Top-10 guys and I believe I should be in the Top-10,” said Gastelum, during the FOX Sports post-fight show. “This is the biggest win of my life in front of thousands of fans.”

Gastelum (10-0) has won all five of his Octagon bouts, including a pair of submissions. The 23-year-old even seemed to have little issues with the weight cut, something that hindered his performance in recent fights.

As someone who has gone three rounds with Hall, Rick Story and Nico Musoke, Gastelum wasn’t overly-concerned when Ellenberger connected on a few early strikes.

“He tagged me, but in a fight, you’ve got to expect to get hit,” he said. “But he didn’t really hurt me. I was prepared for a 15-minute war.”
