UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez appeared on “The MMA Hour” earlier this week and was asked his thoughts on tonight’s UFC 180 main event between Fabricio Werdum and Mark Hunt.

Velasquez was expected to defend his title vs. Werdum, but a knee injury knocked him out of action. Instead, Werdum and Hunt will meet for the interim title.

“I think Werdum,” Velasquez said, when asked to make a prediction. “I think Mark Hunt just has that knockout power. I think Werdum, with his length and his wrestling, (he) has it. On the feet, with the power that Hunt has, he has a chance of winning, but that’s pretty much it.”

Velasquez (13-1) hasn’t foughtt since last October when he finished Junior dos Santos. His last five fights – spanning three years this month – have come vs. either dos Santos or Antonio Silva.
