Former title contenders Miesha Tate and Sara McMann will square off this January at UFC 183.
The fight announcement was made official on “UFC Tonight” Wednesday evening. It will take place January 31 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with Anderson Silva-Nick Diaz in the main event.
Tate (15-5) has won two straight inside the Octagon, defeating Rin Nakai and Liz Carmouche. She lost to Ronda Rousey last December for the UFC title following a loss to Cat Zingano earlier in 2013. Tate is a former Strikeforce champion.
McMann (8-1) suffered her first career defeat at the hands of Rousey to start 2013, but rebounded with a win over Lauren Murphy. She won silver in the Summer Olympics in wrestling.
