Welterweights will help kickoff the New Year at UFC 182, as Mats Nilsson meets Omari Akhmedov.

Set for January 3 from Las Vegas and the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the night will feature a pair of world title fights. First, Ronda Rousey defends her female bantamweight gold vs. Cat Zingano in the co-main event, while Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier settle their feud over the light heavyweight title in the main event.

Nilsson (11-3-1) is moving down from middleweight after a loss to Luke Barnatt earlier this year. He has finished seven of his 11 wins. Akhmedov (13-2) earned a knockout over Thiago Perpetuo in his debut with the promotion, but was submitted by Gunnar Nelson in his most recent appearance.
