Sparring Session Led To Rockhold-Bisping Problems

ufc fight night 55

Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping will settle their differences inside the Octagon on November 7 at UFC Fight Night 55 from Australia.

The event airs in Australia on November 8, but a day earlier here in North America. The card starts at 7:30 p.m. ET on Fight Pass.

Rockhold and Bisping have gone back-and-forth in interviews, social media and other gatherings – all because of a sparring session several years ago.

“I simply don’t like Bisping,” Rockhold said. “This all started when I went down to help him with some sparring even though I was carrying an injury and out of shape. Afterwards he thanked me for helping out – but then went on national television and rubbished me.

“Believe me, he got 10-percent of me in that session, and I will make him pay for disrespecting me on TV.”

Bisping doesn’t sound overly-concerned with his decision to bring up the training time, saying “I made an off-the-cuff remark while trying to be funny on TV. I said it with a laugh and a smile, and I apologized and said it was just a joke, but this guy simply takes himself far too seriously to get over it.

“Luke has no sense of humor, unless you count going out in public dressed like a teenager. But, either way, I kicked his arse in sparring and I will kick his arse in the Octagon.”

I hate to say it but I’m becoming endeared to Michael Bisping these days. Maybe because I haven’t seen him in person for years, or perhaps the losses and serious injury have made him a little more human, but I caught myself routing for him against Cung and I’ll be supporting him against Luke. It’s a wierd feeling

I was liking him until I saw him tweet a thing about how Cung Le tweeted him a link to his drug test, and Bispings reply was (without using his handle so Cung couldn’t see it) that he didn’t care and posted a picture of Le battered and bloody..that’s not to classy

If I ever get to the point of thinking he’s a classy guy I’ll know the dementia is kicking in early
