Middleweights with a combined 18 Octagon victories will square off this January at UFC 182, as Nate Marquardt meets Brad Tavares.
Set for January 3 from Las Vegas, the card features a double-championship night, as Jon Jones defends his belt vs. Daniel Cormier and Ronda Rousey does the same vs. Cat Zingano.
Marquardt (33-13-2) is in his second stint with the UFC and is coming off a submission win over James Te Huna that improved his mark to 11-6 overall. The victory snapped a string of knockout losses to Jake Ellenberger and Hector Lombard.
Tavares (12-3) is looking to do the same after back-to-back defeats at the hands of Yoel Romero and Tim Boetsch. Prior to that, he had won five in a row.
