What’s been long-rumored is now official, as Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano has been added to UFC 182 for the female bantamweight title. The announcement was made Wednesday night during “UFC Tonight.”

Set for January 3 from Las Vegas and the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the night also features Jon Jones defending his UFC light heavyweight belt vs. Daniel Cormier.

Rousey (10-0) has earned four title defenses already and is the only female to wear UFC gold to date. She stopped Alexis Davis earlier this year, adding to wins over Sara McMann, Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche. She is also a former Strikeforce champion, where she downed Tate and Sarah Kaufman.

Zingano (9-0) cemented her status as No. 1 contender when she returned from a year-long stint on the sidelines by besting Amanda Nunes. “Alpha” defeated Tate last year, but a knee injury in training knocked her out of a planned title fight with Rousey and spot on The Ultimate Fighter as a coach.
