Former WEC champion and UFC title contender Urijah Faber will return to the Octagon this December at UFC 181 against Francisco Rivera. Officials added the bout late Wednesday night.

Set for December 6 from Las Vegas, the pay-per-view main card features two UFC title fights, as Robbie Lawler challenges Johny Hendricks for the welterweight title and Anthony Pettis defends his lightweight belt vs. Gilbert Melendez.

Faber (31-7) scored a submission victory over Alex Caceres in July and was rumored to be part of the Japan card, but never officially announced. He is 7-3 since coming over to the UFC from the WEC, and is still unbeaten in non-title fights throughout his career.

Rivera (10-3) has won three of five inside the Octagon, but is coming off a decision loss to Takeya Mizugaki that snapped a six-fight unbeaten streak. He had a previous win vs. Roland Delorme overturned to a no-contest due to a failed drug test.
